The Dirtywetdog video channel experience.
Winter 2022 blog.
Hi Everyone, I hope you are all well. It’s been a long while since I did anything different with the DWD web page so I guess this is some kind of blog announcement in that i’m making a more concerted effort to get into filming, editing and producing video segments on a regular basis. I did always intend to film the Pathfinder build and to produce some video segments from that but for a number of reasons it never happened ; rather than getting video clips early on I did just start amassing a whole photograph library about the build – as of now I have about two thousand photographs to add in to planned video’s.
This week I customized and edited my channel on Youtube after recently making a couple of ‘show and tell’ segments about some features of the boat – those being the Cuddy design and build and secondly the asymmetric layout build. That series will continue with a look at the aft end, the rig and a more functional look at what I am doing over the winter which is creating the second and larger sleep space.
As of now i’m still working with a bulky, heavy and fragile DSLR which isn’t the best tool to have with me in the workshop while i’m doing practical things such as grinding and sanding stainless steel but at least it is film – plus I finally found a way to film and record clips at the workbench and then go to my editing softwware and just use the voice clip. In the future and as the budget allows I hope to change over to using a modern sport camera like a GoPro for example as something like that is much more likely to survive out on the water.
Anyway, for your perusal and entertainment here’s a recent selection from my new Youtube channel.
Thanks for watching.
Most recent.
This week my most recent video segment is the one in which I show and tell the center layout of the boat which includes the off-center ‘centerboard’ and what will be the ballast and batery compartment plus the large outboard lockers.
Back by a few weeks – here’s the first of the show and tell series – this one covered the design, construction and function of the hard cuddy. I did this one first because the most frequent questions I was asked during the build were about the cuddy.
Finally, or firstly, I made this video clip to celebrate the end of the main build and hauling the nearly finished boat out from under the shelter.
