Recent video segments.
This month’s main progress is that I finally finished the trailer so that’s now ready for the road and I also had the rigging made so I was able to put up (and take down) the mast for the first time. I did even get as far as ‘measuring the hole’ for the mainsail but I know now that I made a simple mistake with that so right at the end of a stormy week I rolled the boat out again, put the mast up again and measured up yet again for the 2 working sails. I also worked out a better way of lowering the mast so I should now be able to raise and lower it all on my own – which will be a huge help when I get to go inshore and ‘shoot’ bridges.
I made a short video of just raising the mast and released that…..but it has very little technical content and no explanation of what I was doing so I filmed the whole process again but this time with multiple angles and several sections of talk-over. That video is now in edit because it’s the editing that just about doubles the time needed – the whole process of doing a job and filming it and then editing takes something like ten times the amount of time taken to just do the job. In ‘blog time’ that video will be scheduled at the end of the week that quick update comes out.
Meanwhile…..I thought I would do a quick post catch up about my recent video segments because i’m putting a lot of time and effort into my video work and yes – I feel that I need to promote it to get views and hopefully a subscriber base. The feedback that iv’e been getting is that viewers seem to mainly enjoy and ‘like’ but a reasonable comment is that my technical video’s need more ‘technical’ content and better explanation of what i’m doing…..so in the video that i’m editing this weekend ‘Measuring the Hole’ that’s what I have done.
Anyway, here’s some of my recent video segments.
Raising the mast.
Work on the trailer.
Spring fitting out.
